This project was set up by De Kruiff Art Projects and Soup Royale Design for the purpose of improving the appearance and reputation of the Transvaal district. It resulted in extremely colourful window decorations for all the empty shops in the shopping district.
The window designs were squares that could be positioned to create various patterns. The repetitive nature of the design drew attention, and by using them in all the windows, the empty buildings seemed linked together to form a whole. Plastic carrier bags with the same prints as the window decorations contributed to the dynamics of the shopping street. These carrier bags, with their different colours and shapes when filled, playfully syncronized with the windows, before exiting the shopping street with its owner.
